What was this Decade about?!

Was reading a thing on bbc site a couple of days ago about different decades and what they are remembered for... Like the 1990's being good for british music (great music), politics with Labour winning in 1997, england organising something good like euro 96... Things like that..

And i was thinking of this decade 2000-2010.. seen as its 2007 and its nearing the end of this decade ALREADY (what is that about?!)

What has exactly happened? It seems if i think about it there seems no difference between 2000-2001-2002-2003 etc...they all seem mashed into one rubbish memory in terms of great or big things happening... What have we been left with apart from hightened terrorism (or more limelight of it) chavs? political correctness? I dont know.. even musically? what has come out that wasnt here in the 1990s??

The world being very scared of each other (who started it...well..). Rubbish music dominating the charts thanks to Simon Cowell.

Maybe for the UK it was when high speed internet access became freely available and we as a nation truely took to the web....(yeah that's scraping the bottom of the barrel but...ah well..)

it hasn't been a great decade, but certainly not the worst..

oh and middle east has been unstable for a millenium or two.
