What was your first experience on a bike

My dad taking me around the paddock at Oulton Park on his track day. I would have been around 5/6, there is a picture of it.. standby..

Bike was a ZZR 600 :)

My dad was a ex-biker so wasn't allowed one. I went on back of mates at silly speeds when I was 19. I took lessons and tests in secret.
I bought bike in secret.

I turned up on bike and my telling off was my dad saying "nice bike. Is it insured?"

I was banned for speeding on my 21st birthday at court lol. I then spent next 6 years racing.

:D Made me chuckle

I've only just been able to sit down properly and catch up on stuff here due to getting a slipping disc seven weeks a go.

I sat on the back of a fizzy that some oik had nicked and was monging about on back in my Liverpool days, around 1975 when I was 12 ish I'd guess. Two up across the local tip wasn't exactly as exciting as I'd hoped for as I recall. A few months later however my brother's mate turned up on his Suzuki GT 550 and as luck would have it everyone was out (mum and dad thought they were death traps) and so he asked if I'd like a ride around on the back instead. Now this is more like it I thought...until he ducked down and wheelied it across an open railway crossing and nearly had me off the back of it. It was utterly fantastic all the same. Life then took it's usual twists and turns and I ended up going to London to work and either push-biked it or drove everywhere, not once thinking of a bike in that time. Fast forward to 2006 to a random BBQ, where an ex of mine turned up with a guy who just happened to be a bike instructor. A few chats later and a few hundred quid lighter I had a scooter. Now three scooters later (handy for London in my defence), one of which stands next to a Honda Crossrunner. Both of which will suffice for the time being...maybe.

In 1979 I think it was. A mate had a child's field bike. Twist and go scrambler sort of thing. Had a go and have never been able to beat the bug since. Got my own field bike in around 1982 and have continually had bikes ever since until last year when I became bikeless. Not sure I'll ever ride again but we will see.

Here's me looking like an idiot in the mid 80s I think. That was my 2nd legal road-bike. A Yamaha SR125.

And this was my first big bike after passing my test. A Suzuki GS550. I still look like an idiot. Got a tab on too.

Got it for my 16th Birthday.

Almost snap!!!

I got a Black TS50X when i was 16. I put a BigOne exhaust and 70cc bore kit on it :D it was excellent, the quickest of all fellow bikers in 6th form . Until i blew it up on the way to school one day, popped a ring :p

Way back, on a Kawasaki GP750 somethingorother. 750z I think.
Basically, pillion on my instructor's bike, as he gave me a lift to the training school for my first lesson that morning.

2-stroke Honda NSR125RR in black and silver, when I was 16. About 14 years ago now. (125's are legal @ 16 here :) )

Had a full arrow exhaust system on it. It sounded fantastic. Went pretty well too !
