What was your first visit to OcUk for?

Most threads probably got pruned and archived or binned from earlier forums days I'm guessing. Ah well.

IIRC the original forums were part of another site (a single section) in about 99.
Then Spie moved to a dedicated K6-2 350 server with a dedicated forum setup (but only a handful of sections iirc GH, overclocking and a few others).

They got wiped a couple of times due to various things including the DB getting really messed up.
Then they were pruned on a regular basis until we moved to the current hardware about 4-5 years ago, with only specific threads being saved in the archives (I think Spie has actually got a thread about the shop/forum history in there somewhere).

Does it feel like 111 ?

At times...

Much the same as everyone else, advice on my first computer spec 18 months ago.

My flatmate was a keen system builder and I watched as he built one from scratch in awe. I then wanted my own high spec system for work and gaming, saw he purchased from here and ordered my system towards the end of my first year in uni. Always returned daily since :D

Cant remember what i bought from the site but the first time i went to their shop in that warehouse which you drove through the middle of I bought a dell 2407WFP.
I recall getting a bit frustrated because when this guy who looked like jeremy beedle came out he kept insisting I buy this cheapo benq one which had just been released.

I also remember seeing this guy come in with 3 6900 ( i think ) ultras or something and complaining they didnt work and going ballistic at the guy because he couldnt play battlefield... (the cards w/e they were, were over kill)

I was 13/14. I wanted what everybody my age wanted. So I signed up to the forum so that I could reach my dream of...

Tri Sli 8800 ultras

My system looks pretty shabby, when compared with other systems

Pentium 4 @ 3.00ghz
1Gb RAM DD2 @ 533mhz
geforce 6800 (overclocked to 370mhz core, 680mhz memory.)
XP professional sp2
19" Dell monitor
160Gb hard disk 7200rpm
2 DVD RW drives

Is it time to get a new system, or is it better to wait for stuff like nehalem, skulltrail etc?

My first ever post. It's weird. That post was made nearly 3 years ago, and yet it's only 4 months ago that I got a new system :o :D

I had another account before this but I forgot the login and password and the email that I signed up with was an old Freeserve one so I couldn't retrieve the account info. Been on the forums for about 10+ years.

Here was my first post. Fascinating stuff.

Hi sheriff mozzer

Did you find a solution to this? I am having exactly the same problem with P5Q pro and Antec nine hundred 2. Headphone and mic on the front panel work fine separately but together I get the plugged / unplugged nonsense in vista. The HD audio connector is connected to the motherboard and HD audio enabled in the bios.

Cheers

I think this was actually the first time I'd ever posted in any forum, always thought it was a bit weird talking to people on the internet, now I'm on here all the time! :o
