what were the first few guitar songs you lernt to play?

My first songs were all classical pieces as I did classical guitar to start with. A lot of waltz and ballads etc.

Then moved into more modern music and onto the compulsary "Smoke on the Water" and "Eye of the Tiger" beginners tunes :D

Then my first 'proper' song that I learnt to play in its entirety was "Secret Agent Man", after which I moved into Metallica and various other artists.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Im a begineer i wouldnt say i learned a song until i can play it exactly in time with the song im trying to play. Going by that i cant play anything really, but i can play tabs out of time and not fast enough.

Simplifid versions of stuff like Good Riddence (Time of Your Life) and some Oasis stuff.

The first tracks I learnt properly were Bombtrack and Killing In The Name.

Master of Puppets here too :D

Not the whole song, just the first few minutes of it.

Also something by Blink 182, no idea what the song was called though.

Likewise - got me on open chords and the blues. That and Smells Like Teen Spirit - the song largely responsible for me wanting to get a guitar at the time - which got me figuring out barre chords.

Can't recall the first non-rhythm piece I tried to learn... maybe it was the solo from Smells Like Teen Spirit :D.

lol forgot about smells like teen spirit

after that i went straight in there and spent weeks learning the solo in californication, dont htink my fingers have ever hurt so much :(

Adam's Song - Blink 182

It's easy as pie and sounds cool.

Now I have a guitar teacher he gives me a lot of clasical and fingerpicked stuff, which is what I love.

my mate taught me smoke on the water
my brother in law taught me under the bridge

(can only do the start of these two)

and i taught myself the stone cold steve austin music

can't play anything else

Classical pieces at first...

When I took guitar up again though they were Wish You Were Here, Stairway to Heaven and the House Of The Rising Sun. I think.

Hey Joe - Hendrix
Rough Boy - ZZ Top
Johnny B Goode - Berry
Purple Haze - Hendrix

(first four tabbed songs that my teacher did for me, in between theory etc)

Wonderwall for the Acoustic and wanted to use my capo

Enter Sandman, just loved the main riff

Teenage Kicks, because it's easy

Next on the list is some classic Randy Rhoads, Crazy Train..

The intros to Nothing Else Matters and Sanitarium.

It's still the only thing I can play on guitar.

I guess I should just stick to drums.
