Hi chaps.

I need to increase the wifi range of a clients wifi network (existing router is a Belkin F5D7630UK4A) so it covers more of the house but REALLY dont want to put a pcmcia card into the laptop as well as the Intel 2200 centrino thats in there already...

Ive looked at the Netgear Rangemax, Belkin Pre-n and Linksys WRx kits reviews but am looking for other recomendations etc.

Do you have to use a MIMO card in the latop(Sony btw) to get the full range of these MIMO routers?

Theres no scope to move the connection point just now but if need be it could be done....

So, whats the skinny with SOHO wifi router kit for getting through 3 thick brick walls and 40ft away?

Ta!

What about WDS? More than one wireless device in a distributed setup.
That, along with (for example) a Linksys WRT54G/GS would let you boost the power, and attach better antennae.

Do you have to use a MIMO card in the latop(Sony btw) to get the full range of these MIMO routers?

Would imagine so.
