First of all, apologies if this is a stupid question but I've never been 100% sure of what the differences are between Sky, Freeview, Freesat etc??

The situation I'm in that I've got Sky in the living room and one of the bedrooms via multiroom!

I've not got any regular TV aerial mainly because we've had Sky since day-one in our house and never needed one! (plus there is a huge tree right in front of where it would be pointing!)

Ideally I'd like to kick my £50 a month Sky subscription into touch but still get the usual terrestrial channels and if at all possibly keep the recording facility on the 2 Sky boxes (although I doubt that is possible??)

Can anyone enlighten me as to the best way to receive a subscription free service but with a recording facility??

Thanks....

Yeah, I've been through the whole "cancellation" tactic before (although the last time I did it 12 months or so ago, they literally didn't offer me a thing - after being with them for 15+ years too!)

So if I do stick to my guns and end up leaving, what is the best way to get the recording facility back? Is it just a case of getting hold of a hard drive recorder and using that??
