what would you do with £100,000?

£100k will open a lot of doors

It's £100k not £1m. It isn't a huge amount of money. It's considerably less than the value of, say, the average house in this country.

a hostel is providing a service to tourism and providing local employment

So what?

Lets look at the Investment visa, shall we?

This visa is for people who have a successful business or investment career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia.

Oh, so not people with 100k wanting to start yet another youth hostel :p

Ok so what about about a Business Development visa? Probably more suitable.

For people who have a successful business career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved as an owner in a new or existing business in Australia.

Whoops, failed again.

This just isn't the right amount of money to be life changing unfortunately. All it can really do is get you a nice car and help you buy a house (It wont even buy a house, it'll simply form a really nice deposit for one) or perhaps start a business within the UK.

Pay off any remaining debt (obvious for most people!) and then bank the rest after having a small spend on a few desirables most probably :p

Oh and after a bit probably the following

While £100k won't buy you a house outright it certainly does allow you to buy a house much more comfortably though.
