What would you do? work collegue related...He does naff all!

Hmmm. I'm in two minds. Unless it impacts you directly, I don't see why you should care.

Well, its pretty ridiculous if someone is sat next to you doing the same job and doing no work and you are snowed under so to speak.

Its up to management to sort it out though, surely they must be interested if someone is doing nothing and they are paying for it? :p

Meanwhile in another hardware forum not so far away:

Title: What would you do about this?

Body: I've been working at this new job for the last 3 months and all the members of staff on my team seem to have a real problem with me. This one guy keeps complaining to management about me appparently doing 'no work' yet every time I turn around he's on some computer forum whilst talking to customers on the phone! wtf?? Last week my boss called me into a meeting and started talking about dsicipliary action etc, I'm not sure what to do. I feel like even if I cut down my 'slack time' (which is only probably level with everyone else here) then nothing will change, they'll still hold a grudge against me and try and get me out. Sigh...

Tattle tale?

errmm not when it effects our service.

Sorry

he's already had a disciplinary

they know whats going on. Leave the managers to do their job. They are almost certainly letting him get on with it to generate enough evidence to sack him with.

You have to reasonable grounds, you can't sack people without proper evidence that even when confronted he isnt doing his job. You have to give people a chance in case he sues for unfair / constructive dismissal hence why they are letting him be lazy now even after the disciplinary.

Let him hang himself.

Like I said in my first post, no one else but me can see whats going on.

Your naive if you think that.

if he's only spending 30 % of his day doing work, it will be apparent in his KPI / stats / whatever you call them.

Any decent corporate internet has a proxie server that will show exactly what websites he vists and when anyway.

if nobody knew he wouldnt already have had one disciplinary would he ?

If your really concerned, leave it another month then have a quick word with your / his line manager and make sure they are aware that his behaviour hasnt changed since his disciplinary.

Every workplace has the office chump, so let him get on with hanging himself.

I was under the impression he wouldn't have a leg to stand on if he hasn't worked there over a year regardless of circumstances, so that might not be the reason.
