Hmmm. I'm in two minds. Unless it impacts you directly, I don't see why you should care.
There's many reasons, mostly moral ones so I'm guessing you're morally dumb to ask that question?
Lack of morals actually makes you superior, however not understanding the concept of ethics or morals would make you dumb, but there is a very big difference

its bad for business if he's not working like he should be,
That would be the managers problem, if the manager is unaware, thats his problem, the manager is therefore crap at his job.

Why should i care if it is unfair? A lot of things are unfair, if its directly affecting me or anyone i care about then i would do something, otherwise its a waste of time and effort
its stupid to allow someone to get away with it regardless, its not worth the company, team or anyone elses time to cover or let him get away with it
Thats the problem upper management needs to deal with, working as a team however will directly affect you, if his lack of work increases your own workload then action would be required otherwise...
when he's already been talked to with a disciplinary and still not working. In the end bad for business, team morale, customers on the other end (who they are supporting and have a job to support yet should ignore leaving someone in who is counter productive to this goal they are being paid for?)
Managers problem again, unless its a small company why should you care, if it is a small company then again its still not your problem unless you have power to sack the person, if you dont then....
and even the back log which effects the reputation of the company he works for which is obviously bad if people start badmouthing it and they get contracts taken away or whatever.

Keep in mind that my answers are based depending on my position within the company. If i am the manager people slacking and not doing work would not exist at all. But until i get promoted, the hell with it.
