Just for fun, let's see how serious you are about your gaming ..

Which of the below would you give up totally instead of giving up all PC & console gaming in it's entirity, for 1 whole year - 2012, if you HAD to choose one or the other? Each answer is mutually exclusive. So I'm not asking whether you'd give up television AND £500!

- or .. which of the below would you prefer to a year's PC gaming?

1) Television?
2) Your main, annual Holiday?
3) All eating out in restaurants?
4) Your mobile phone?
5) £500?
6) exactly half of 1 single months take home monthly wages (or students .. half a months budget).
7) Your partner (or, if you have none, any chance to get a partner)?
8) Your single favourite food-stuff (eg. 'curry', or maybe 'chips', 'chocolate'??)
9) Any social activity at all. A solid year of 'not going out tonight ..'
10) Any source of news apart from family, personal news. So no bbc news, no papers, no footy scores .. nada ..

Me?

1) Yes
2) Yes (only a week who cares!)
3) Yes
4) Yes
5) Yes
6) Yes
7) Nope
8) Yes
9) Nope

You'd give up 2 grand to play games for a year? O_o
Yup. £166 a month to be able to play my PC rather than watch 'Come Dine with me' and 'location location I want to kill myself' with the missus? I honestly would.
(EDIT - changed the question to 'half a month's income' to make it more relative to the individual)

1. Yes - definitely. PC > TV
2. Yes - well I don't really go on holidays anyway; only travel if there's some other purpose.
3. Yes - again, hardly eat out anyway, unless someone else invites.
4. No - Phone is essential for communication.
5. Yes - but not willingly. It's a lot of money...
6. No - need that for more important things like food.
7. No
8. No - food is important for the body, and I can't properly enjoy a game if I'm not eating properly. ;)
9. Yes - hardly go out anyway. Easy to give up one social activity.
10. Yes - I'd still get news, but indirectly.

7) No chance, she does so much for me
8) That's a tough one, it'd be curry but i think i could give it up over gaming.
9) i've already done that years ago, never again and i wouldn't recommend it at all.
10) I would LOVEEEEEEEEEE that one, if only i could get people to stop telling me what load of crap is next in line to kill us all i'd be a much much much happier person.

I'd give up all of that except TV, my partner and news.

Interesting to see so many people would give up TV, I think to make it more interesting that should include anything that could be watched through a TV as well i.e. no DVDs, streaming to PC etc.

Personally I'd like to see an option for 'attending sporting/music events' for people that enjoy those sort of things. Not strictly a social activity as you could go alone.
