What would you have done?

Called the police and waited - if necessary keeping the kids locked up in the car. If it got nasty I would hide and let my wife take her and the mystery attacker down. She's hard.

Neodude, on a totally unconnected note, I looked at your sig - you're pics are awesome. Would you be up for me writing an article featuring your snaps for the website in my sig link?

Update:

After sitting in the police car for about 30 minutes she has just got out and bogged off in a taxi.

With kids in the back i would off dropped them off home if it was fairly close and then drove back to see if she was still there.. if she was i would help her/ or get scammed which ever it was.

Sure. As long as you plug my website ;)

Of course. It would be an "Amazing Photographs of Scotland" type of thing with a short bio of you & your techniques and then about 10 of your photos. Fully linked to your site etc.

Does that sound good?

I'll email you when I get some spare time :D

Option 5 tell her to get back in the bloody kitchen. Know your place woman

Either that or being a taxi driver taken the wads of cash and headed tward the airport

Stay with her in sight to make sure she's okay and call the police but I wouldn't have let her in the car, sounds a bit suspicious tbh so I wouldn't have risked it.

Yeah, that's what we thought. Part of me feels guilty for not sticking around, and the wife says she would hate to think that if she had been beaten up in the street that nobody would stop to help. But at the end of the day she was a complete stranger and anything could've happened, she might've just been on a murder spree for all we knew. With kids in the back I wasn't taking any chances. Sounds like it turned out as well as can be expected anyways.

Call the Police and wait with her.

Why isn't that an option?

The fear factor I expect.

Whoever gave her that black eye may well turn up and with two young children you have to ask yourself that question.

Personally I would have waited, but Burnsey, most people who would be inclined to help do not have the background that we do in dealing with situations that may well turn violent.

I don't know if some of you are aware but a very common tactic used by grand theft auto offenders is to use a girl as bait (damsel in distress scenario) to make someone stop the car and give them enough time to come out of some bushes or wherever their hiding and hijacknig it.

In that situation I would have ignored as if I had kids, their safety would be more important, not to mention the fact that she's flashing cash seems suspicious as most people if they saw someone in distress and were even paid to help them would.
