If you could add a motor to a PDA or mobile device of some sort (battery, weight is not so much of a concern within obvious reason) - what would you do with it and to achieve what?

This is a fork of some coursework I am working on at the moment, but thought it'd be a good potato for a thread here, as no one has anything better to do (:)).

An obvious one - zoom lenses on a camera, or one of my own; a speaker phone what moved to microphone toward the 'strongest voice'.

nothing, I cant see any possible use for a motor in a pda.

However you could use a methanol based engine, to power it. Instead of a battery. This is already in development and we will see things with this new power source become available next year. probably only in the far east though.

I had a dream once where me and some friends were driving to Cornwall and the car got bogged down in some mud. My friend promptly whipped out his mobile phone which among standard features like a camera, also had a winch. He then proceeded to pull said car out of the ditch just using this hand-held winch.

Of course, how an average sized man can pull a car from a ditch I dont know, but weird dreams often come with weird physics.

You could use a lot of pulleys to reduce the effort you need to exert. Or something.
