Just installed windows and booted up AI suite 3 to do a quick OC. Got to 4.6GHz at 1.296v. The temp goes to around 55-60c is this an ok temp? Running a 980ti in the loop too!

Very good I would say, and also 4.6 with under 1.3v is also good. Have you checked it is stable though?
If the overclock is done in the bios you will probably be able to use less volts, and reduce temps more, but that
voltage is already very reasonable.

Yeah pretty good. I think iove got an exceptional one and can run at 4.6 with 1.275v. IBT gets max temps to 60C with two 290x in the loop

Great! Thanks guys! Asus suite 3 has an internal test when trying to OC. The video and my motherboard are shown here - https://youtu.be/Oxd651HEsXE

As he explains. If you want to do Adobe Premiere etc OC you need to increase the stress test time. I left it at 15 seconds as it's mainly for gaming. Using my SLI 980 setup at the adobe PC.

I did try the latest Prime95 and it did hang after a few minutes though. I've heard Prime95 isn't a good stress test anymore? Is IBT the go to one now?

Asus real bench is generally the recommended Stress test for Haswell http://rog.asus.com/file/RealBench_v1.1.rar
If your system is stable running it for 2+ hrs your probily stable. YMMV ofcourse

ibt really stresses the cpu and makes it very hot. Gets mine up to 77C.

Asus real bench is good and is what i use

You lucky devil Greebo - got a nice chip their it seems. Mine needs 1.32 or thereabouts for 4.5, don't think I could even get to 4.6 as temps would prohibit, even though I have 2 x 480 rads with cpu/gpu in the loop.

Nice one

Yes I also recommend Asus real bench for testing - it works well, and you soon find out if you are really stable, but asides from that just use your pc as normal, gaming whatever to check.

Yeah lucky dip :D 4.5 only needed 1.25v. Ive not really had much time to play yet and perhaps i can get the voltage down even more on 4.6Ghz.

So far the most i've had it at is 4.8Ghz on 1.35v but at that voltage its throwing out way too much heat into the waterloop.

Hey all quick update. Downloaded and tried Asus realbench and it passed on a 2hr test and never went above 55c. Mostly at 50c with 4.6. I noticed the CPU occasionally went to 4.7GHz at around 1.31v.

I also did a IBT test and it was frying my CPU! Got to 70c:( Still happy I guess? Is this ok?

My GPU isn't really a clocker though. Can't get it above 150MHz above clock (Evga 980Ti Hydro Copper standard clock not stock 980Ti clock) and 250MHz on Memory @ stock voltage:( Not really happy messing with voltage on GPU.

4.7 @1.31 - a great result, and good to hear it is stable. You sir have a mighty fine chip there. Congrats, and boo hoo for mine - still must not complain it is after all a good performer - just wish it were a better clocker !!!

Thanks. Unfortunately I had a little accident when replacing my DI Water (clearing tubes out after cutting them to size etc) with Mayhems White UV. DI water got all over the GPU (it was off and not powered). A few table spoons dropped onto the GPU water ports mostly. I couldn't see any get onto the PCB, but I assume some did. I've left the PC in a warm room over night to dry out.. It looks free of water, but I'm worried about condensation:(

UPDATE - Seems my GPU survived thankfully! Did another stress test on realbench and the app crashed but not windows so set it off again. As for temps the room I'm in is very warm as I had it heated over night to dry out components. At the moment the max temp on realbench is hitting 62c with Mayhems Pastel White UV. Is this a good temperature? Obviously Mayhems isn't going to be as good as DI water at cooling... I also have the fans running at 40% to keep noise to a minimum without compromising cooling massively.

Those temps look absolutely fine. Mayhems fluid vs Di water might make a tiny difference but nothing worth worrying about.

Thanks disco but it turns out looking at the AI Suite 3 temps wasn't a good idea! Downloaded realtemp and temps hit 73c on one core with realbench:( Is there a way to measure overall CPU temp and not by core? Numbers were 68, 62, 73, 66, 69, 57! Will update with IBT results.

IBT results on standard after 10 runs: - 76c,67c, 80, 72, 79, 69

Edit: forgot to add that ambient temp is 26.4c

Also the temps seem to level out at around 60c, but hit the highest right at the start and right at the end of the IBT test for some reason. The above results are the maximums. The average is 65c during the test.

Overall cpu temp is useless though, its the individual cores which count as one core failing will cause instability.

Like you i have a 10c spread in my cores which is annoying.

So my question is are my results standard? I know my previous results were good, but these results from realtemp are over 10c hotter:(

Mine gets in to the mid 70c's @1.23v 4.5 ghz, but only got 2x 240mm ek pe rads at the mo, just about to put 2x480's in the loop.
Your temps seem to be as they should be.
