Bit of a silly question really but am going up there on Friday to spend the weekend with some friends, got myself a Satnav system (get lost easily lol) so just wondering if anyone knows what it's like up there.

The city centre is a bit of maze with 1 way systems, but pretty much everywhere else is easy enough to navigate.

Rush hour ain't all that good though, so try and avoid that :)

1 way, hilly, bit of a pain really. Learnt to drive here though so it's all fine with me now :D

Roads are bumpy, one way system was designed by a blind man, loads of trams and busses to dodge.

Where about in Sheffield are you going? If it's Eccelshall Road/London Road area then they are really busy at morning/evening rush hour and on Saturday day time.

But at least it's not full of inbreds like most southern cities :p

Bankers Draft does nice food but they stopped doing the 747 Jugs last time I was down, The Bull used to do a good £1 a drink deal ... oh hang on driving ? Er ... It's ok but that depends what you are used to!

Chocked and congested during weekdays. Outskirts not too bad outside the rush hours. The decent roads to the east and south east are clogged with Sunday drivers at the weekends.

The area between Snake pass (east side A57) and Bakewell/Buxton to the east of Chesterfield would be superb if you could ever get some clear roads. I've heard they have installed a speed camera near the reservoir stretch of the snake recently.
