Whats happened to all the WW2 Shooters!!

It is not because they started dumbing things down or anything. Far from it. Most WW2 shooters were all quite simplistic themselves.

It is because the genre was becoming oversaturated and people wanted something more fresh.

They'll come back eventually.

I thought CoD2 was the best of the lot TBH.
 
It'll come full circle when the children get bored of all the near future BS that gets pumped out. Like others have said RO2 and RS fill the void for now.
 
I like future when its done right (halo, planetside 2) but not when its done like call of duty series where you really dont seem to be in the future but playing a reskinned modern shooter.

I hope the next BF will be a future setting, if its like bf 2142 and not sw battlefront that'd be great.
 
I find the constant use of kids, children etc... as a put down to anybody who likes futuristic shooters, even more childish.

As for WW2 shooters then yes it would be nice to have one in a modern engine. Can't see it though.
 
I cant even remember the last WW2 shooter I played, BIA: Hells Highway perhaps?

We are definitely overdue another as I am bored to death of all this modern and futuristic crap!

I've been playing this this morning and I must admit I was a bit iffy at first, but it's really growing on me. Hitting people is satisfying and I like the sound effects when you do clip someone and wound them.

Is there only one map? I've only played on one so far.. ever game I find is the same map, unless I have to get level 5 to unlock that other mode? (must be other ones as the video I posted below is a different map) I do like the map I played in the forest though.

I'm still rank 1 and it's taking FOREVER to rank up.

One thing I don't like is the micro transactions implemented, it's taking me forever to get the funds built up to buy attachments etc..

Whistling to your team mates is funny, and BICYCLES lol, your team mate can jump on the back of it while you pedal to the battle, I've seen it all now..

The world looks pretty good and authentic, I like the size of the map that I played.

Bullets are lethal as well, and you really have to aim properly to catch people and wound them.

Will play some more and see what else I think of it.

Ofc it's early access, so surely it should only get better

MOHAA Omaha Beach mission was the best!

CoD and CoD2 consumed majority of my teenage years. Finding 5v5 scrims on mIRC... oh the nostalgia.
