I still think Nvidia will release a Volta Titan this year? I just hope they change that Titan name to something else? They also have to do a complete overhaul of the reference design.

I doubt there will be Titan Volta, more like the 1080 replacement GV104.

Really? The staple overpriced cash cow from Nvidia?

We had two Kepler Titans, one Maxwell and two Pascal Titans so it's almost guaranteed that we will get a 2080, Volta Titan, 2080Ti, Volta Titan Mk2 since Nvidia knows how to milk the cows fat udders.

I'd say the 2080 will come out first around September-January, Titan Volta around March and then 2080 Ti around June followed by a full fat Titan Volta a month or 2 after.

I reckon as soon as they're able to, a volta card will be out and it doesn't matter what AMD do. Nvidia is involved in much more than gaming GPU's and their customers will want them to keep driving technology forward which will be then spawn gaming GPU's. So as soon as NV is able to release a 1080 they will do IMO.
I don't expect a Titan XV this year but I do expect an 1180 towards the end of it.

Indeed there was, and the 8 series came after the 7 series and before the 9 series.

What came after the 700 series? The 900 series.

And what came after the 900 series? The 10 series.

Nvidia naming conventions aren't for pedants. ;)
Well essentially they went 7-8-9-10, so...

I think the 1070/1080 versions of Volta (GV104?) are likely before the year is out or at the most early 2018. The 1080 has been out a year already remember. It would be unlikely for Nvidia to go a whole 2 years without a new generation, or at least a refresh of some sort so I am expecting something by early 2018 at the latest.

Essex innit!
Still as pedant as ever Spoffle :D

At the OP - Volta next and no idea if they will go 1180 or 2080 or Titan XxX :) I would guesstimate around March 2018 for the 1080 replacement.

GeForce GTX 980 September 18, 2014
GeForce GTX 980 Ti June 2, 2015
GeForce GTX 1080 May 27, 2016
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti March 10, 2017

You are looking at an average of 10 months between card releases at the high end consumer, that would make Q1 '18 the most likely, although if they needed to paper launch it, or very low volume it might be Q4 '17.
