I went on my PayPal today to find I've got £35 in there, even though last time I looked I only had £1. So I had a look at the history and seen this.

14 Apr 2010 Temporary Hold Removed ... £35.00 GBP
Original Authorisation:

£0.00 GBP

	PayPal
Total Amount:
	£35.00 GBP
Fee amount:
	£0.00 GBP
Net amount:
	£35.00 GBP

Date:

Do any of you have any Idea why Paypal would hold back money for?

Thanks
Jo

Did the buyer pay with an e-cheque?

No. The only way I've had money put in my Paypal is when I sold something but the person put money in from his paypal.

Other than that, I've only got games using my PayPal.

For some reason the £35 was Temporary Hold By Paypal.

Just click the details hotlink? It will tell you why..

Thanks, but that is where I got all the info from what is posted on first post.

16 Mar 2010 Temporary Hold Placed Details -£35.00 GBP
14 Apr 2010 Temporary Hold Removed Details £35.00 GBP

How about the details hotlink next to 'Placed'? or does that go to the same page?

I had it the other day and it said 'Unauthorized Transaction'.. I contacted the buyer and they told him that someone from Korea had access to his account. So they placed a temporary hold on all his payments to be on the safe side. Once he cleared his account, all the holds were removed.

Last time I had a hold on a Paypal payment, it was because I hadn't sold enough things through ebay. So they held all incoming transactions until the other party had left positive feedback or a certain time period passes.
