Whats the best phone you have owned.

Moto Defy,

Probably the best combo of hardware and software out there at the moment. Froyo runs like a dream, and sits quite happy at 1ghz.

Nice and tough to boot, so no need to nurse maid the handset. Get over two days from a charge as well.

Had the iP4, but it left me cold (probably after having a 2g, 3g, 3gs - it just felt like more of the same)

from eldest to most recent

w800i first mobile that made me excited as something "more" than a phone, it's camera at the time gave decent results and of course it made an excellent music / media player when on the move

Desire, still a top notch piece of kit, battery life does wind me up no end though, other than that I can't fault it

now looking to get either an SGS2 or IP4 still torn between the two but hoping I can get a good deal on the SGS2 at launch, all things being equal in terms of pricing and contracts etc I think the SGS2 would swing it by a gnats fart

SE T610 was the first phone I had that made me think "This is a GREAT phone!". Nokia E65 was pretty good with hands down the best voice recognition out there (Nokia need to license it to somebody on the Android Marketplace....)

But it has to be my HTC Desire as it's so much more than just a phone.

No Blackberry love :(

For me it's the Bold 9700 (now own 9780).

Nope i love my blackberry...although im getting rid of my 9800 torch for the white 9780 on monday...as much as i love the torch, its just not really that polished as much as i wanted it to be. But the best BB ive ever had was the 9000 Bold....the 9780 Bold is just a fill in for the Bold touch which should be out later this yr.

I have an iphone4 too but i prefer my Blackberry over that...the ip4 is a very nicely built device but theres too many signal issues with it...i wouldnt rely on my ip4 in an emergency.

Robboftw, if you don't like the DHD, I'll gladly take it off your hands... I'll give you a tenner for it? :D ;)

I bet you will! :p

I like my Desire HD, its just not something I would want to keep for much longer. I'd switch back to my iPhone but I cant be bothered and I'll just wait for the SGS2.

Hard to say really, if you are scoring just based on being a phone not a multimedia device then my Nokia 6210 by a mile, sound quality was amazing, battery life second to none, and it never failed. However if you are looking at new hardware, basically miniaturised personal computers then I'd have to put my Desire first then the old Iphone 3g. The Desire should keep me going until something that offers more comes along, and by more I don't mean a faster processor or a higher mega pixel rated camera, I am talking much higher res screens, something with 128GB+ of storage and hopefully a battery to last at least 3 days.

iPhone 3GS 16GB. I moved to android for the sake of it and purchased a Desire HD. I just haven't taken to the phone. Android and the phone itself just isn't that polished or finished for me.

I've still got a soft spot for my old Ericsson T28 - it had barely any features but I've never had a smaller, neater phone, battery life was just about acceptable but the main thing about it was that I never got bored of it and still felt that little bit of "wow" every time I used it. Every phone since then has theoretically been an improvement at least in terms of features but none I've enjoyed so much - of the rest there's an honourable mention for the Sony-Ericsson W880i and the Nokia E72 (current phone) as they do everything I need from a phone and work well but the best I can say is that it took me longer to get bored of them than the rest I've had.

For it's time? Nokia 8210. Still the best phone I've ever used - small, light, great reception, great battery life, loud speaker, strong vibrate... Also survived all kinds of falls.

My old iPhones, BBs, HTCs and nokias have all been fantastic (loved an old samsung clamshell too) but the phone thats really stood out is the motorola defy. Once you've sorted out the software it's just perfect. There's simply no hardware niggles all the others seem to have, a it's a tough/water resistant, androind running iPhone 4 that's half the price. :)
