Hi there,

Ive been out the PC world for a good few years now being a solid Mac user. Anyway, due to professional reasons the time has come to back to PC's for a bit..

I need to run 3ds Max and like minded programs in a stable enviroment, last time I was using Pc's Windows 2000 was still the best OS for this sort of stuff, is this still the case or is XP Pro pretty reliable?

XP Pro x64 Edition is the best if you're doing rendering.

AFAIK I don't think many people will disagree when I say XP is far more reliable than Mac OS/X has ever been :)
 
thanks for the tip mate,,

i dont want to get into the whole mac vs pc thing, i have never taken 'sides' i have used both platforms and i can say quite honestly that they both have strengths and weaknesses, pro's and con's etc etc

ill look into xp pro x64..

oh another thing, a tad off subject but what is a good anti-virus software to use with it as i remember being plagued with bloody virus last time i used a pc for work :(
