What's the faster card?

Probably a silly question but what's quicker? I've been offered the 7800GTX for £200. Is that a fair price?

256MB XFX 7800GTX

or

512MB Sapphire X1900XT (I've seen one available for around £215)

I'm guessing the X1900XT would come into it's own at the resolution of 1680 x 1050 on a 20" Widescreen.

The X1900XT is easily the faster card.

The 7800GTX 256MB is approx the same speed as the 7900GT.

Its only the faster clocked 7800GTX 512MB that performs close to the X1900XT.

It is probably a "fair" price - but it still doesn't stop the x1900 being by far the better option!

And yes, the x1900 is perfect for gaming at 20"+

Not when you can get the much faster x1900 XT brand new for around the same price.

You can even get the 256mb x1900 XT which will whoop it as well for only £176 brand new.

£200 for a 256 7800GTX is a ripoff, specially 2nd hand.

I'll give it a miss then. How much would be the going price for the 2nd hand 7800gtx? I'm sure he paid around £350 when he first bought it.

I was quoted £130 for my Leadtek 7800GT on the price check section of the forums so not much more.

Yeah no more than £140ish, as they are essentially the same speeds as a 7900GT, which cost about £170 new.
