What's the fastest way to wear down my tyres?

Why would you even ask that?!

Just go to a carpark, get chavvy and do a burnout.

I was going to do this....

but will that damage the gearbox at all? or any other general part of the car?

Wheelspins.

Best way of bashing out a monster wheelspin is to reverse, then while the car is still rolling backwards pop it into first, give it some juice and bring up the clutch hard. It will spin on the spot for ages.

Like so:

No, all you are doing is keeping the rear brakes on whilst you rev the engine hard and drop the clutch...obv it wont help the clutch but its a moot point.

If you do it like a fanny you can easily break a shaft/CV joint too. You have to do it like you mean it.

As i suspected!

Any particular surface that will wear them down faster than normal?

Stick them on the front of my 850R. Seems to turn even the hardest compound into cheese after a few weeks!

Why do they have to be worn down before you change them? I don't see how changing them as they are is any different to taking them into a car park and melting them in a week.

If you tried to do a burnout and instead of just spinning, the wheels started jumping up and down juddering like hell through the suspension, what would you think was wrong? I would suspect the shock absorbers not holding the springs in check. Would you agree?

(not directed at anyone in particular btw)
