Quit while i was ahead,
By the way the lottery is not Gambling, its a straight up rip off scam
Lottery and 'Regular Gambling' have some significant differences:And regular gambling isn't? Both are a stealth tax on the poor.
How can NIC be a stealth tax when it's an official tax? A stealth tax isn't recognized as a tax but the effect is the same. Of course nobody is forced to gamble or play the lottery, but the vast majority of the revenue comes from people that can least afford it.Lottery and 'Regular Gambling' have some significant differences:
1) The odds on the lottery are absolutely atrocious, with approx 45% (last time I checked) of stake being paid back in prizes. That's utterly abysmal compared to the typical sportsbook or casino games.
2) There is no skill element involved because all outcomes have an equal probability with no variables that can influence that. With sports gambling, one can make judgements as to the relative probability of an event.
Neither falls into the category of stealth tax because you are under no obligation to do them. Stealth taxes are things like NIC and waste collection charges.
