hi guys

ford fiesta 2000 (w or x, not sure)
mark 4 (older version of it, as mark 5 was made at the same time but i think its a bit uglier)
1.25 zetec 16v
cd player
45k miles
2 owners, 1 female (8yr), 1 youngish lad(1yr)
great condition, i know its had 1 little bump but fully repaired
12 months mot
4 months tax

bosh, anyone want to guess how much? reason im asking is that the lad at work is selling it and im interested, not had a car for 3 years so ive no idea what these things are worth, looks like a nice car last time i saw it, so imagine its in similar condition

all my mates say its a bargain, so before i put the price up, just wondered if anyone knew? or had a parkers handy to tell me, ill put the price up when im back from the gym in an hour or so, dont want to put numbers in your mouths, want to know if its on the money or a lot cheaper, and if its a lot cheaper ill have 2 get my dad to have a proper look at it incase theres something amiss :D

condition 8/10 id say when my mate got it it was showroom condition, no doubt hes had his mates in there but its still pretty good

no cat d was a slow collision that just took out the front headlight all fixed :)

I buy small cars all the time, so naturally i see tons of things like this. I will say that a good deal on that car and what i would pay for it is around £1000 with the view to make a few hundred on it.

Am i right?

yeh 1k is the most i would pay for it.

What you are willing to pay and market value are two totally different things. A car like that in good condition is worth £1200 to £1500. I see dealers mark up cars similar to mine for £1500 and they sell!

A dealer would look to pick something up like that for £900 to a £1000 and add their markup but we're not talking trade values, it's being sold privately.

From what I've read you do a lot of miles for work which seem unlikely in the car trade... do you buy and sell cars on the side or something? How does that work with registering a new owner which you will end up being, or is a proper registered business? I've thought about carefully buying what would appear decent cheap cars that needs a good clean up and chep work with a view to get a small return. Is it a worthwhile venture whilst working full time?

If you get it for £1k or less, you've got yourself a decent reliable car I reckon. The 1.25 is a decent unit by all accounts and it hasn't done killer miles but... what kind of drving has it seen with your mate, does it get chance to warm up properly on the way to work? That would be my only concern but a small one at that.

He has thought it good enough a deal that it was worth bragging about. A good brag-worthy price on that car is around £1000 :)

I agree, 1k would be a price to brag about, anything more then it's not really a bargain. I paid £900 for my MK4 S reg but I made the garage fit a new cambelt and put a fresh MOT on it for me. That saved me £300.

ok guys 800 is the price, i knew it was worth 800, but seems its quite cheap, i dont do many miles to my plan is to run it for a year or 2 then hopefully sell it on at a similar price, so looking perfect, as long as the wheels dont fall off, so to speak

will be having a look tomorrow :D

i dont think there is any, not that i saw last time anyway our 51 plate mk5 fiesta has loads tho, even tho we kept it in the garage for the first 3 or 4 years which is a bit weird
