Hi,

A good friend of mine is selling his old PC and has offered me it but is unsure of a fair price.

Spec;

Case: Corsair 700D
Motherboard: Gigabit GA-P55A-UD5
Processor:i5 760 2.8Ghz
Memory: 16gb (unknown frequency, but decent brand)
GPU: AMD 7990 HD
HDD: 60GB OCZ SSD

Also, will this play iRacing on the top settings @ 1080p 60hz? And will Project Cars 2 be playable at 1080p 60hz?

Thanks guys.

Project Cars 2 be playable at 1080p 60hz
Not at max settings. Probably lowest to low settings.
That spec is getting a bit long in the tooth now. Even with the 7990. Crossfire isn't well supported - so mostly consider it to be a 7970 for most games.

Not sure if pc2 supports crossfire, but it's minimum requirements is a gtx680. Thats the nvidia equivalent of a 7970 back in the day.
If pc2 supports crossfire then 7990 would be able to run it at med/hi settings.

You can buy an i5 760 from like £12, the good thing about the 1156 socket as I found out is that you can overclock them so that might play in favour.

Ocz ssd of 60gb plus can be found from £15 depending where you look.

The 7990 I think I’ve seen being sold for from £90 depending on version and running.

1156 socket boards are just as rare as 1155, but how desirable still is debatable, I have seen 1155 boards from £25, the 1156 can be found from £20 depending on where.

16gb kits are over £60 new and depending on brand I’ve seen from £30 used, but people sell single 8gb from £15 used depending on model and speed.

Corsair 700D from £50 depending where found and condition.

Question is, what power supply does it include to have such a high performing graphics card?

Add it all up then work out an average price for a complete system that saves you the hassle of the hunt.

In some prospect, from £170 to £350 you can get haswell i3(sold one myself with a gtx 750 and 16gb ram for just above £200 mark), 1155 socket i3/i5 with lower end graphic cards or 1050 types and 8gb ram, you can also get FX 6 and 8 cores with decent specs round it, some cases you might find the odd older i7 processors, you can even get skyla parts in that price range.

It be down to what you think it is worth to you and whether it does what you want.

As above, you be able to run Those games, but likely on medium settings if you want 1080p res, doubt you will get 60fps plus out the box

And also how much use has it seen? Is he likely to have used it a lot? Is it worth sinking cash into if the GPU or PSU suddenly fail? Do you need to buy right at this moment?
