What's wrong with my OnePlus Nord screen?

What has broken in my Oneplus Nord? My hunch is that water got in through the speaker hole as that's where the mark first appeared before spreading and I dropped it in water a few days prior. Would I be able to fix it myself and if so for how much?
What parts actually need replacing?

Backup your phones contents asap, that looks like it will get worse over time (Happened to my OnePlus 3), and it's a pain to operate if the right things aren't in place once the screen is blacked out.

When I replaced the screen via OnePlus a few years ago it was reasonably priced and relatively stress free.
