What's your data usage like per month...

Last month I used roughly 600mb, but on average between 400-500mb per month. Thats with a 2GB allowance on Three.

Thats loads of web browsing, with a little You Tube and streaming.

Around 150MB 3G usage a month. I tend to use Free WiFi most places though (much lower latency than 3G makes for a nicer browsing experience) The 150MB is pretty much just news/forums and google maps GPS.

If I had a high limit I'd use a lot more, mainly streaming music.

OK, Ive cut down my usage dramatically by avoiding the luxuries (eg Youtube) and using Opera turbo which I must say is working great.

Used 330meg today but the tally was at 280meg before I switched to Opera turbo :)

Currently at 18meg an hour so will try to whittle it down to 100meg a day.

No ... I'm running the whole of my home LAN off my mobile :D

Interesting results so far.

Changed the default route of my router from broadband -> a low powered machine running squid and tethered to the mobile.

I can see some incoming  but seriously as a broadband replacement it's not bad at all.

You do realise it's people like you that are ruining the unlimited data plans for everyone else, right?

On a quiet month, 300MB. On a busy month (such as December, lots of being trawled around shops by the missus) it can get close to 1GB.

Orange have never said anything or charged me extra, even though my FUP states 500MB.

60MB is the highest I've managed so far. I'm on 45MB so far this month and it resets in 8 days.

This is with an Android phone just being used for facebook/twitter and the odd web page at dinner time.

I might start taking my netbook and using the wifi hotspot/teathering feature. That should up it closer to the 500MB I'm paying for.

Contract was taken out in 2001 when unlimited meant unlimited without a FUP so I don't seem to see how ?

A contract from 2001 predates 3G and nobody was offering unlimited GPRS 10 years ago. The contract is renewed and subject to the latest terms when you upgrade so yet won't still be on the t&cs from 2001.

Either way even with no FUP people like you are the reason unlimited is becoming a thing of the past - taking the mick is why unlimited is vanishing.

100-150mb on a 500mb plan, I was slightly apprehensive about the data policy, but I've actually noticed it's not that bad if you don't do video's or full flash. and I use it all the time.

Been on Unlimited for the last few years, first it was with a FUP of 2GB, next contract it was 1GB, currently it's 500MB. I was really worried about this at contract signing time, but my current network is the only one to actually itemise it and I'm using 80MB - 200MB per month, so I really didn't need to worry as it turned out.

Agreed, I only pay £15 a month for 15gb allowance on mobile (dongle) broadband with three (it was an offer before anyone queries the price). Its not expensive to not ruin everyone else's fun, tight sod.

My monthly usage one my mobile is around 100-300mb
