So what makes Gmail such a popular email provider?

I have never used it so it's a genuine question as I'm tempted to move away from Hotmail.

Found delays on Gmail... emails are sometimes late going in and out.

Yahoo has worked perfectly for me since 2003. I personally use my own domains mail now though and can't fault it at all.

I moved away from my blueyonder pop3 to Gmail when I got my first android phone. I do like not being dependent on my BB provider - I'm now with Sky. Gmail seems to do the job just fine for me.

I used to primarily use a live account but I have started using gmail and whilst there is huge difference I do prefer it.

Only ever used Hotmail and never really had an issue with, next to no spam ever gets through and is easy to use.

Also slightly averse to moving away as I have a .com as opposed to a .co.uk address

sky's email is gmail. just with a different access portal
