just thought i would ask ....

i have the Blade Runner soundtrack (the special edition one you cant buy in the shops) and its outstanding. So whats your favourite few soundtracks?


Balde Runner - Vangelis
Braveheart - John Williams
Music from the Matrix - Various


hounorable mentions to Oceans 11, and Dune (the Movie)

The Wanderers has a great 60's soundtrack. Great film too.

I watched Cold Mountain and thought the music throughout was really good.
 
Proper soundtracks i.e. only written for the film or are we including ones that use songs that have previously been released in their own right?

If the latter then High Fidelity, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs all spring immediately to mind although I'm sure I'm forgetting other worthy contenders. :)

//edit also since you are from Glasgow is Balde Runner a bit of a freudian slip? :p
 
Has to be the 3 The Lord of the Rings soundtracks, songs in particular being; Evenstar, Breath of Life, Gollum's Song, Into the West and of course May It Be.
 
I used to have a thing for the gladiator soundtrack(hans zimmer + lisa gerrard i think) as there are a lot of good tunes on there, thats pretty much the only one that springs to mind for me

I dont think anyone will recall this one but the tune where evey says "god is in the rain" in v for vendetta(dario marianelli or something like that) is also brilliant, i didnt think much of the v for vendetta soundtrack all in all though

Gladiator sound track is amazing.
