When are the next gen nvidia cards coming out ?

Lol is there much diffrace between the nvidia 600 and 700

Quite a bit of difference in games and benchmarks and in the energy saving department as well as temperatures, The 780/Ti is an awesome piece of engineering.

Not much between 760 & 670, or 680 & 770. The 780, however, is a different animal.

+1

It all depends what you want.

The 290X is very well priced at the moment. Especially the Tri-X. However, not my cup of tea. But CF scales better than SLI.

As for the "reviews" posted above about the 780, please consider that those reviews are from November 2013. As of April 2014, both AMD & Nvidia graphic cards got a nice boost with their drivers (Nvidia 780 around 11%). Look for current reviews to make your mind.

And two rules to consider.
a) A 780Ghz provides the same power as a stock 780Ti. And you can buy some good 780, that can clock to 1250-1300 without BIOS mod. As long as it is coming with 3 fans you will be ok.
b) The 780 to 780Ti power different, clock for clock is 15%.

And they are almost £150-200 cheaper than the average 780 Ti.
But again it all depends which 780 Ti. (there is a Ti Ghz out there for less than £500)

Well my budget is about 150 -200, so I was thinking I could get a new 760 or 770 if any offers come or a used 680 which I will be a Le to pick up for about £150

The 780 reference is quite conservatively clocked. The Ti is still a fair margin faster but in reality not as much as shown once clocking.

Then again you're dependent on silicon lottery.

Indeed - the good overclocked (with any kind of binning) model 780s will mostly be hitting between 1200 and 1300MHz without extra voltage/special BIOS - mine does something like 1240MHz with no voltage adjustment and 1267 on +63mv.

Regarding next gen not really sure whats happening there - nVidia supposedly had 20nm allocation about now from TSMC but we would normally have heard from the usual suspects by now if they had anything significant taped out.

Looks like nVidia might be holding out for 14 or 16nm hybrids before another "big" GPU.

I might have to keep an eye out for one of them...mind you by the time I go to upgrade... :D

The better quality examples of the GHZ and classified, etc. 780s are boosting to around 10-15% extra performance out the box with atleast 10% still in the tank (a little more for the classified) so that puts them pretty competitive against 780tis that can only manage a moderate overclock though you'll always be 10-15% short of the better clocking 780tis. Very much at the mercy of the silicon lottery though.

I'm not sure I need something like the 780 yet, my 660 played every game i tried even at high. do i really need something like the 780, I cant justify the cost yet,
