well i`m 35 and have seen consoles go from activision -atari to start with..playing space invadeers and missle command.. in the 80`s.. to present day..which by the end of the year will be ps3 ..so given the 20 plus years consoles have gone, what do you think the ps10 or xbox what ever will be running.. i can`t imagine 10yrs down the track..never mind20plus.. will gaming still be so popular or will it eventually die? it`s just hard to imagine..i wish i had more time to devote to gaming.. spos things change as you get older..

I'll be too old only when can't physically play any more.

Though seeing what's happened in the last 20 years with technology and games it's fightening to think what games will be like in 50 years when I'll be 'just' 82.

Same here. Either that or when all games have become the stupid ultra realistic mass of FPS games and I can't have fun playing games any more.

Join the club, I'm 30, single and struggling to find gaming time anymore in addition to everything else.

I keep imagining futuristic consoles coming up with something like the holodeck in Star Trek for some reason :D

I can't imagine never wanting to play games, I think as time goes along the age range is expanding, I think this has sped up in the past 5 years or so.

Like others have mentioned in this thread It's sooo exciting if you're a gamer to think how games are going to look in 10-20 years time

I don't mind how they look, as long as they offer something new from what I am playing now I wouldnt mind.

Would love proper voice commands in games, that would be ace being able to boss people around in a RTS and they react.

For me it would be the AI, once it gets to a level where you can interact with it and it is truely adaptive and thinking for itself so to speak it will be ace.

Don't think anbody has written a program yet which will evolve as you use it, but I think we are quite close with the worlds being done in Spore and some modern games, we are only a couple of steps away from AI that changes itself to react and learns from you, not just confined to what its programmed.

That would be great, would make the AI useful in mulitplayer not just single player first hour getting used to the game. :p

Well im 30yo now and im lucky as my 3 year old loves playing games(mainly my doing, lol), When I now slip 360 games in the tesco trolly and the missus sees I just say its for the boy ;) lol

anyone else feel a bit silly when looking in the games section like me especially the nintendo section, a grown man surrounded by kids shouting ''coooll this ones awseome mum, can I have it pleeeeeaaaase?'',, another case of pretend its for the boy lol..

Haha :D I imagine i'll be like that some day.

I'm 28 and still love playing although the 360 is my first console since the Megadrive. It's true that I have much less time for it but it doesn't stop the fun.

I do think as well that consoles are much more female friendly; my gf enjoys several 360 games whereas past gfs got very pished off with my pc gaming (cough Diablo 2)

Im only a lowly 17, i cant game as much as i would like anymore, with college and being able to drive taking up most of my time.

Most of my mates, well in fact all of my mates have stopped gaming now which is a pain. I feel like im the only person in cornwall with a Xbox360

33 here and cant see myself giving up console gaming, although ive never really been into it but the 360 definitely has me hooked. Im now waiting for the nintendo revolution to finally hit our shores then ill be getting that as well.

Cant see myself ever getting bored of console gaming even though my mates think im kinda old for it and even the gf is always taking the mick out of me...plus lately hardly any time to play on it as shes been taking up most of my attetnion. Oh well only another 2 weeks and shes gone back to NYC hehe then i can get back into it properly :p

I'm coming up to being 25 and wondered this myself. But i can't see me stopping, there are times when i'm too busy to play anything but other times when i would be bored out of my mind if i didn't have my consoles/PC to keep me entertained. I'll stop when i can't pick a pad up anymore or they stop making consoles/games. ;)

I'm 19 now and love gaming.

I often get them little times whe nI don't wanna play games but afte rthat I get the biggest urge to pick up a pad/mouse and play till the sun gose down.

I will probably be gaming for a long long time.

People have played games since the dawn of time, be it chess, cards or something similar.
We're never too old to game, it is a necessary part of our genetic coding.

My mother almost 60 and she loves playing crash bandicoot on the playstation (many nights she been up to gone midnight playing this.)...She started playing it on my PSP as well.
