I finish Uni in May and im just curious to when I should start applying for a job?

Im worried that if I start now and get offered something ill have to delay it until im done.

Any advice?

Depends what sort of jobs you want really. Grad schemes? You should have applied last year.

Normal local jobs with local employers? I started applying the day I handed my dissertation in and applied for the job I got 4 days after that.

Now - just tell them when you'll become available. Big graduate employers having lengthy recruitment processes anyway which can easily take until May to complete.

Totally up to you, grad schemes they run throughout till like Easter time when assessment centres happen(of course some finish sooner), local jobs you could write speculative letters, scan grad jobs sites like me ( i seem to find a new site everyday, there's literally hundreds of them) or check out normal job sites, jobcentreplus,monster,reed.co.uk etc.. the list is endless, get your google shoes on, and in imo do it sooner rather than later!!!

I graduated last year in July, and I began searching for jobs in January. Quite a few employers said they would get back to me closer to the time I would graduate (i.e. May), but I was able to find a job in February.

Just make it clear to employers that you are still in education. If they think you are worth waiting for, they will wait for you.
