When does going to the gym start to show?
Ive just strarted resently and i wondering :)

Even though ive only been going for a week or 2 im finding it easyer to lift more each time i go for some reason, Is that just psycological or is it physical?

What a vague question, who knows.

Neural adaption is the answer to the second part, your muscles are learning new movements and becoming more efficient at them. You should gain lots of strength quickly then it will slow down.

it depends on certain parts. When i started i found that the first thing to show was my chest happened within one month, got bigger and harder

My biceps and triceps took about 2 months to begin to be visibly bigger.

My legs after 1 year still look the same to me.

forearms after 1 year also look the same as do wrists.

my delts took about 1 month

my abs are slightly more defined but i never ever bother with them.

i like to have a workout where for one week i focus on one thing, I.E

if i really want a bigger chest for one week ill include a bench press everyday but continue with my regular routine.

You probably will find that you yourself wont notice any difference because, well you see your self everyday. But when i used to come back home from uni my sister used to comment that "You look gay in that tight t shirt" and this t shirt was far to big previously :p

You will find that as you see results you get more motivated. Up until about 3 months ago i only went to the gym twice a week. Now i go every day :)

im sure i read somewhere that to put an inch on your arms will take about 10lb of lean muscle mass (over whole body).

cardio stuff you will start to notice quite quick if you have a decent diet to go with it, muscle will take a bit longer.

This is why most ppl pack in with the gym, they expect instant results.

Myself, i love the feeling i get from pushing myself to the limit on each and every set, muscle growth is just a nice bonus :)

All i know is one day i put my weights up a lot more to what i was used to because what i was doing was too easy and when i did the circuit by the end of it i felt like i was going to through up and was getting head spins so bad i couldnt complete the last couple things on the second circuit

But the next time i went i tryed the exact same weight and i managed to get through it with relative ease and got no head spins and didnt feel sick at all.

i think you see the biggest % gains in the first 2 months, this is because your body is adapting and growing to cope with the new movements.

this is why you should change your routine now and then, the body gets comfortable doing the same things.

It'll take as long as it takes. :) But one thing is for sure, if we dont have the correct diet and we dont do the correct exercises, it'll never come. Focus on the process not the results. :) This is marathon and for life
