When will the first AMD 6870 review be out?

I'm also in the minority that prefer a paper launch. I like reasonable retail availability when the cards are released, but I would always prefer more information to be available beforehand.

Waiting until release day to let out any information about technical specs or performance is just a tease!

I know how you feel - I've had my 5850, what, 8 months?

Still, I think I'm gonna jump on the 6xxx series bandwagon, and then *try* to only upgrade every other major revision

Unless there is some massive change to the way crossfire is implemented, then no. No it won't.

I think since ATI 6000 series are just refreshment on the same 40nm die, probably the performance increase is between 15-25% but ofcourse this is all just speculation or just intelligent guesses. Will have to wait and see how these cards perform in actual real life tests.

I am eagerly waiting to see how 6870 performs and as long as it beats 480, I am very happy .

Cheer up man. Enjoy your 5870 for the time being. I used 'ati radeon 9200 se family' (very olg gpu) for 6 years before I bought 5850 with my new rig and it has been awesome since then.
