McLaren sacked with a £2.5m payoff.

But why was he ever in the job? The FA chose a manager eminently unqualified for the job; rejecting several more experience and pedigreed men along the way. And, surprise, surprise, he failed.

They've lost us a chance to play in the European cup, and wasted £2.5m into the boot. Which one of them is going to step up, admit fault and quit?

As soon as Scolari turned us down the FA panicked, when to be honest we had a fair bit of time to decide on a new manager. Unfortunatly, some bright spark put forward the notion that Steve McLaren, despite being a part of the "failed" Sven team was good enough for the position.

Heads should roll but they wont. Especially as the economy is apparently going to miss out on around £1 billion!

I swear I read it in a now seemingly non-existent bbc article this morning. Either that or the all nighter is making me hallucinate, what a strange thing to see though...

So Mcclaren is responsible for costing the country 1 billion pounds and he gets 2 million quid for the deed?

All I can say is, nice one Mac :D

hes just trying to bring everywhere else in the UK down to the standards of middlesbro :)
Why cant we select whos in power, jesus we should be able to vote on FA when we vote for PM, im sure thatll increase voting numbers so the MPs would be happy!
