Where can I buy battery on Sunday when most shops are closed

Monserrat, hi, we've got traditional scales which was ok for the malt, but not accurate enough for 10-20g hops. You'll have to come around with Jane and Andy to try some of this beer at some point. Otherwise I'm sure we'll see you again in the Sun Inn at some point.

Ahhhhhh, it's you Simon! Hiya! Andy and I were only talking about you yesterday in Caffe Nero. You'll have to 'crash one of our parties with Andy in Stafford again sometime soon :-)

Ok people, I'm back with batteries. Thanks everyone. The local express supermarket had some hidden behind some other batteries. But still, success.

OOH and homebrew won't count in the competition ;) :p
Definitely not. It'd all be english as country of production anyway, so could only enter as E. But that'd be no fun.

Sounds good. Look forward too it.

Not strickly true matey, as I'd be inclined to go with the beers origin rather than production. ie. Budweiser is american but is also brewed in Ireland by Guinness so it still has to go down as American or USA ;) Worth posting in the other thread though just to clear it by everyone else.

Glad you're sorted all the same :)

There are no new Sunday Trading laws.

The existing Sunday trading laws in England and Wales have been suspended until the end of the Olympics and Paralympics.

Yep and its ****ing pointless! I'm in until 8 and surprisngly just like seabiscuit no one knows its open until 8. The odd person who's came in (thinking it closes at 5, or 6) has had a look of complete confusion when I've told them its not closing until 8.

Yep, but which country would you class a beer that uses British malts, and hops from Australia, UK and Slovenia? It's not based on another beer, it's just the hop descriptions sounded like they might make a good combination for a refreshing summer ale. Pale malts with hops with pine aroma and citrus aroma and flavours. Who knows how it'll turn out. We'll find out in a few weeks, and then barrel condition it for a while longer.

I know that everything's gone digital, but surely you still keep a pair of traditional kitchen scales, maybe in your cupboard under the stairs or something? That's where I keep manual stuff like whisk, pepper mill, camping gas burner, candles and old kitchen scales... all of those things for when the electrics goes out.

Digital scales are easier to read really, 0-2kg in 0.1g increments is more convenient on a digital scale.

Fixed :D
