My overclock disappeared!
Turned on today and found my pretty new Ultima Eliminator 4GHz i7 920 Gigabyte X58 system was only reaching 2.8 GHz at full load. Resolved by going into BIOS, taking the F12 option to load the Overclockers profile into CMOS, saving BIOS, and restarting. This put the clock back to 191 where it should have been instead of the standard 133 where I found it this morning (although BIOS was saying it was 191).
What puzzles me is why did it happen? It was working normally on an undemanding task when it was shut down the night before.
I am not a tweaker, which is why I was happy to buy a pre-overclocked system from Overclockers.
