Aldi these days, used to use Muscle Food but can't be bothered buying in massive bulk for tiny savings anymore. Although I do miss their chicken sausages and hache steaks.

I've used Donald Russell a few times but pretty expensive so now use the local butcher.
Donald Russell are only about 18 miles from me but they don't have a shop it's online only.

We get the vast majority of ours from the butcher in the town where my parents-in-law live. His prices are good but it's the quality of the meat we go for. The sausages are absolutely excellent, full of flavour and no filler. Beef is dry aged on site and his brisket is to die for. The minced beef and stewing steak are superb.

His lamb is ok, chops are small and quite expensive though so we get lamb from the butcher in the town we live. It's a pretty good butcher, most things are good but I don't like their brisket as there's absolutely no fat on it.

I'm yet to try an online butcher, must do it some day.

Bolton Market, 5kg bag of chicken £18. 3 large silverside beef joints £10. Tend to eat more fish these days though, lots of sea bream and bass. Tends to be about 3 large sea bass for £10.

I wouldnt think of ordering online, i like to see what im buying, plus the stalls compete with each other, and at the end of the day sell things off, ive had the 5KG chicken for £8 before with a week left on its best before, all gets frozen at home so no issues.

I was about to say sounds a good deal for fish - do not get this in the southern powerhouse, however maybe they are typically farmed.?
compared to meat I usually forget my normal provenance scruples when buying fish(apart from salmon)
but maybe the fish grew up in Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia

Similar to meat (Roumanian MF chicken - um) would prefer 120g of known origin versus 250g unknown

Meat like meat ;) sorry for small off-topic, I couldn't resist. I grow some stuff in my garden (small one) - tomatoes, herbs, raspberries, strawberries, redcurrant, gooseberry.. all I must admit - they taste like in my childhood (esp. tomatoes). No way to find it in any shop. My wife cries in autumn as soon as tomatoes are done and we buy them first time in ASDA. Recommend own gardening, with no chemicals. Herbs (mint) is used in making Mojito which gives +10 to respect to friends ;)
