Where does windows store dialup usernames and passwords?

Hiya

Where does windows store the passwords which are saved for the dialup connections if anyone knows? I imagine there is a file somewhere which has the actual password in it. We have forgot our password and we need it in able to format.

Pretty sure its encrypted. and you could only find the file on win98 iirc, not sure about xp.

Does the box come up where you would type the password, if so do a search "behind the asterisks". Think you can get it from Major Geeks (is that allowed here?) You can find it on the Google.
