Where in your home is your desktop and why?

Interesting responses, anyone have any downsides to having a computer in the lounge?

Kids pushing you're case over, sticking toys and food into it. Using you're mices as hammers, wiping dirty fingers all over you're screen. Swinging on cables, any cables. Computer off, computer on, off, on.... :(

Now in Bedroom.

In my second living room. I like it because there's a fireplace. I have about 100 sq/m of unused space in the basement of which I am going to use some to turn in to a proper office. Going to put a bathroom and maybe a little kitchen/bar down there.

In my room. Along with a TV I use for watching DVDs and PS3 at the end of my bed. I do most of my 'TV watching - Sky etc. - downstairs in the lounge. I purposely don't have Sky multiroom or Freeview in my room because I'd never see my family!

The privacy is tops. Not to be reclusive or anything, but trying to game in communal rooms is a nightmare.

hmm I see there are privacy issues and as mentioned games would probably be an earphone affair... although on the plus side the computer usage becomes more social, which I like the idea of.

I don't like the idea of being tucked away upstairs and I like the idea of having the computer running through the surround sound and TV etc.... but on the flip side I don't like the computer being cramped into the living room cupboard as it would suck for playing games etc and im thinking it would be a bit strange.

Reason why Im taking this decision so seriously is that I want to get all the cat5 etc run under the floorboards before I decorate.
