Just got my own place, got an HTPC downstairs, currently got my desk and pc in my bedroom until I have things sorted and buy another TV. Then get my spare room gutted and tidied, making a secondary living room there with sofa, big desk and whatever other gadgets I want
Not particularly but Id rather run cat5e if I'm going to decorate anyway...
The more I think about it a htpc in the lounge and my gaming computer in a spare bedroom/games room sounds like the way forward, cat5e between them and it will pretty much tick all the boxes.
iMac is in the study.
360 in the games room.
Wifes MacBook (I use this sometimes) spends most of it's time in the bedroom or living room (she watches a lot of iPlayer in bed & browses whilst watching tv in the living room)
Sons computer (gaming pc) is in his bedroom.
Erm, well, the "desktop" is in my study (box room) along with the servers / NAS / other PCs etc ...
The lounge gets a HTPC under the TV and a Mac Mini on the coffee table ...
.... the laptop, is normally in a sleeve under my bed as otherwise I forget where I put it and it only tends to get used for checking the forums before bed (like now) ....
Mine is in the living room, I hate the idea of hiding away in another room just to be on my pc and it's where my mum has has her pcs for 20+ years. My boyfriends pc is in the bedroom so he doesn't annoy me when playing games and using Ventrillo, but it doesn't get used much.
Ah, the joy of having a bigger house than you need. Spare bedroom houses my PC and it's nice to be out of the way when I'm watching footie or playing games as the missus would just complain about the noise if it was in the living room.
