The BIOS manual states that it is in "PC Health Status --> ABIT FanEQ Control --> CPU FAN TYPE"

My BIOS does not have the PC Health Status item !!! I have version 14 BIOS loaded.

It's the next tab along once you're in the uGuru overclocking area.

Not on mine it aint! Strange ... pics of my BIOS to follow if I can get em loaded :)

I have all the options to control fans (I am controlling 12 with my system!) but no option for the 3/4 pin assignment!!

it's not in the Pro BIOS but is in the IP35 & IP35-E.
Some people say that the Pro will control a 3-pin fan fine on the CPU header (works for me) & some say it won't, it's a ymmv situation.
worse comes to worst just disable the warning/shutdown for low fan rpm on the CPUFAN header & put the fan onto Sys or Aux & control it there.

The question was partly rhetorical on my part I must admit ... the really strange thing is that I HAD speed control of the CPU fan until 2 days ago but I do not recall having to do anything specific to enable it and I have not changed anything to do with FANEQ in the BIOS but I have messed with uGuru and the rpm sensor seems to be working OK !!! I have the same fan but no speed control

SOLVED ....

When I set the CPU clocks to default the CPU fan IS speed controlled ... when I set it to user define I LOSE the speed control !

Buggy BIOS!
