Where To Buy Online CD Keys

Sure there is, it's just taking advantage of lower prices from different countries.

But in the past haven't companies of digital services just banned keys at random for doing it*? More of a grey area prehaps?

*although when ever i have heard of that the company that sold the cd key just sends you another.

Steam (or the publishers using Steam) don't like people paying less than what they deem a fair price (price fixing) for certain territories.

But yes, although some people like to post incendiary threads like "never buy from these pirates" etc they offer alternate keys if you have a problem or a refund. Which even if they won't be keen to do most of these places do business through paypal so if worst comes to worst you can just open a dispute and get your money back that way.

I've only bought 3 keys this way before, Blood Bowl, Dawn of War 2 (Steam download) and recently Sabotuer (EA download) and not had a problem. Not massive savings at the time (apart from Blood Bowl which was a £20 saving when it was first available) but you can usually save £5 - £10.

Not everything they sell will be automatically the cheapest though, it's still very much worth looking around for special offers at various online shops and on Steam itself.

Not really too sure on the actual legalities of it all, free trade against the rights of the publishers, grey markets etc. I used to use Lik-Sang to import stuff but Sony tied them up in legal proceedings and sued them into oblivion.

The selling of cd keys may be more of a grey area than just simply importing goods but until I see several articles and news sources discussing it I won't be sure.
