Where to sell gold sovereign

Definitely don't go to a "Cash 4 UR Gold LOL" shop, they give you such a poor rate for the gold.

Thats actually not true, we fix a price daily which has to be competitive or you wouldnt get to buy any gold, especially at the moment while prices are up.

Most places are within pence per gram of each other in the high street, some people slate us because we are buying scrap, not items, so we pay for scrap. Its a sad affair that you paid 200 quid for a ring that scraps for 65, but that is life.

The next misconception is "but your only going to polish that up and sell it as new"

Well , no, no we are not because i can buy new for 1/3 of the price of a high street jeweler anyway, and all we want to do is buy scrap, hence no display windows in most of the shops.

What you should do is remove any diamonds over the size of pointers and sell them separately if you want to get maximum value for money, when scrapping jewelry.

When I worked buying gold a bloke came in with a gold plated tooth, which he had had removed from his mouth. He handed the gold over to me, tooth and all... and I had to prise the gold off this blokes manky rotten tooth... bad times.

i went to town and walked around a few places getting quotes on how much i would get for my gold. went to cash4mygold or somethign stall who offered me £60 at first then went all the way up to £175 with me saying im still goign for a 2nd opinion.
went to antoher place they offered me a bit more and i went to a traditional jewellers who told me the 2nd offer was a goer and i should bite their hand off, so i went back to the first one and told them id been offered more than the second place and he bought it :p

just walk around a few places getting quotes

have a look at coininvestdirect.com

current buy price is £195.81 - anybody offering you less is ripping you off. A bullion dealer should be able to match and even better that price.

I have to ask why would i want to match or better that price if they are selling at £195.81?

Do you think people are in the business of trying to run at a loss.

Just interested.
