Where will guarantee me a Wii on pre-order?

hi all,

I have dilly-dallied till now to pre-order the revolution of gaming the Wii, and I'm now told by quite a few stores that I wont be guaranteed one.

where do you all suggest I try please?

Have a wander/phone some high street retailers and see how big their Wii preorder lists are, if they're relatively small, get your name down on one, else, move onto the next store

they might be J but according to the chap on the phone i'm extremely unlikely to get one on time for Christmas!

I'm waiting till the new year before buying one, mainly as I need all the money I can for my christmas holiday to Orlando.

I would preorder from either Game or Gameplay as they will probably get the highest wii allocation in the UK

Are there any reports of this item not being in abundance on release? Nintendo are pretty good with thier release distribution I dont recall the GC having any where near the same supply problems as the 360 i just walked into asda on day of release and bought one, 2 other friends did the same at two seperate stores in town...

i think in places where you don't have a lot of shops it could be a problem, but here i have about 8 shops which will be selling it on launch day.

I recieved an email today from a popular .com site for ordering games and other stuff, even though I ordered they day they started taking pre-orders, I'll not be getting one of their launch day Wii's

Here's hoping my Game pre-order is high enough up the list, it's online so I've not recieved one of those letters that you get if you're getting one at an actual shop. But I got in reasonably quickly once they started online pre-orders.

IIRC the two popular gaming shops in potteries center, hanley have had little preorders

Scythe, cheers for that I presume you mean G**e and H*V, who both told me they doubt they'll be able to get one for me this year! :O and Disks and Discs in the market in the Potteries centre have only got 10 for launch day :confused:

The most likely I can see for before Christmas is Ar**s (but thats not launch day, it'll be the Tuesday after), and possibly Gameplay online.
