As title really. building a new system very soon. Which radiator to go for? Is there even much difference between the cheap ones and expensive ones.

System will be a 2600k with a 6950 eventually.

Any thick RAD will be ok there's not much difference between top brands, it depends more on the temp of the air and how much is being blown through them.

Being very generic the thinner/less dense fin the RAD the faster the fan has to run to achieve the same temperature dissipation, i have used black ice, feser and thermochill..and have currently got an EK (because it was cheap), so basically what ever thick RAD you can get at the cheapest price point.

Its similar with CPU blocks unless temperature is a problem and every degree counts the figures are within a couple of degrees for all the top brands, in fact that goes for more or less all cooling kit (TIM, water/additives etc) i suppose if you go cheap across everything you might be 5-10C worse off, but you could save half the cost.

the best radiator u can buy is the Thermochill pa120.3 i have 1 in the for sale forums and is £42.00 off retail and in very good condition. its the new spacing so fits right in the 800D

The for sale forums?

Wheres this post, i might be interested =P

The Thermochill PA120.3 and XSPC RX360 would be the best choices using lower speed fans. If you don't mind the noise of high speed fans, then the Black Ice rads may suit you.

Other cheaper alternatives are the EK and Swiftech rads which perform very close to the rads mentioned above.

You need to meet the members market rules to see that part of the forum, which is as far as I know still over 250 posts and 90 days forum membership.

Just to ammend your post, depends which black ice rad as they do high and low fpi rads.

As for which rad, only used black ice sr-1 and can recommend it for low speed fans (something like 7 or 9 FPI can't remember off the top of my head)
