My current HDD has got a lot of head sector errors and has gone slow. So i'm thinking of buying an SSD, need at least 120GB and have around £120 to spend can stretch if its worth it. So whats the best SSD for that price? Been mainly looking at the Corsair force 3's.

I'm slightly concerned thought at the reliability of SSD as i've read about a lot of problems. My rig is based on a GB P35-DS3 mobo, will it work on that? and I dual boot my system with win 7 and ubuntu so I would need to partition the ssd for the two OS.

Cheers

The Agility 3 or Force 3 are your best bets. I cannot remember which is better so it's probably a good idea to look at benchmarks. The oft-recommended Crucial M4s were £140 recently in an OcUK offer but they're usually £150-160.

Yes but no SATA 6 Gbps add-in cards are as fast as native Intel/AMD SATA 6 Gbps controllers. You'll have to decide if it's worth it. Personally, my laptop is much faster with a Crucial M4 than it was with a crappy 5900 RPM HDD, even though it's only SATA 3 Gbps.

Aye, add in cards seem pointless especially when they will be bottlenecked by the pci ports, so i guess not worth it and the ssd should be massively faster then what I have now. Will find out tomorrow when it should arrive!
