I'm definetly going to get a 40" Sony TV. Seen both of these in a couple of shops and really really like them.

Up for contention are KDL-40W4500 at ~£850 or KDL-40V4000 at ~£550.

The main difference I can see between the two is that the W4500 has Motionflow 100Hz and the V4000 does not.

Do you guys think that the 100Hz is really worth it for an extra £300?

Also anyone got these TVs? What do you think of them in SD/HD?

Many thanks.

I got my 40W4500 last week and its awesome. I have been watching Band of Brothers on Blu-Ray and the picture quality is fantastic. Normal TV (Sky Digital) is pretty good as well and I sit pretty close to the screen although its never going to be excellent (and probably not on par with plasmas).

On the whole though I think its been a brilliant buy and I highly recommend it :)

I bought a 40V4000 a month ago, and Im utterly delighted with it. Bought for just £700 with Bluray player, it really is shockingly good with HD stuff @ 1080P. I did consider a 40W4000, but the price difference is not worth it - the W4000 looks superb (as does the W4500) but in terms of image quality there is nothing in it, despite the W4000 supporting x.v.Colour on its 10bit panel which no material supports.

And despite not having 100hz support, it is rarely needed - occasionally slightly juddering on just a few rare movements, but TBH Ive seen may 100hz screens that look worse with lots of `artifacting` and if you are really critical about this get yourself a good plasma screen. Virtually zero lag when playing on my PS3 and Xbox360 and absolutely no judder. And you can get it for just £499 if you look around! :)
