I have been surviving on my JBL Creatures for some time now and i think its about time i went 5.1.

Which speaker setup do you guys reccommend for gaming / movies, im not a real music buff but i do like to blast the tunes out every once in a while.

Was currently looking at the Z5500's but heard some bad reviews about the bass.

Also how does the onboard audio rate on the IP35-Pro, its advertised as 7.1 HD Audio. not sure if i need to get a seperate sound card.

Advice Please

What about the Bass? Z5500's sound fine to me, but it depends how you like your bass.

Whats your budget? if its like 200+ people will most likely recommend seperates, a 2.0 bookshelve setup, or if you got money to burn get a seperates 5.1 setup with superior quality to PC Speakers.

The z5500s are perfect for you then :D

Awesome speakers for movies for £200 unless you go for and av amp and 5.1 which will cost a hell of a lot more. Fantastic for games too. I moved up to separates as i preferred music and didn't want 5.1 for games or music, but i still couldn't get rid of my 5500s so sold em to my parents, and they now run on the main system downstairs hooked up to my PS3 via the optical socket.

Don't waste money on a soundcard like the asus, for ~£50 get a creative card, but check it has either a coaxial digital or optical output. It doesn't really matter what the soundcard decodes (dts, DD5.1) as the control box of the z5500 will do the decoding itself.
