Which 670 from ocuk would you choose?

I have the palit jetstream and tbh I don't find it that noisey but noise from a gfx card is a very subjective thing I guess. Very happy with the cardd for price/performance

Hi mate, not sure if you seen my post just below yours.

Does your JetStream make any strange noises other than normal fan noise?

Sort of like a high pitch tone/hum?

My only advice would be to avoid reference cards. I can't speak for everyone but I have an EVGA GTX670 (underwater) and I can't overclock one bit as I can't get the sodding voltage past 1.175v so try and pick one with a GTX680 PCB and a good warranty like the Gigabyte windforce.

They're all voltage locked to 1.175V mate. Including my 680 Gigabyte WF 3x.

The MSI Lightning has some options for enthusiasts although that may change as they've been slapped by NV.

Isn't there a massive thread on Overclock.net where people are using bios' which bypass the voltage, thermal limit and power usage lock down?

Yes there is another BIOS available but that's not what he was talking about.

He was saying don't get a reference one as they're locked to 1.175V which they all are bar the MSI Lightning.

Why the 4GB version, I thought more RAM is better for higher resolutions that's why AMD have 3GB. Not overclocking it as it then sounds like a turbo jet.

No that's not why they have more VRAM. They have more VRAM as it was 1.5GB or 3GB :D.

Even in 2560*1440 you are GPU limited and VRAM doesn't come into it.

I would buy the 7970 in your position - overclocking doesn't raise noise that much if you buy one with a good cooler.

Absolutely not going with AMD this time. Went for them last time and the drivers drove me up the wall.
