Let's say OCUK build the first suggestion, for say £65, so actually it comes to £522.54

Which build would you go for and why? Other than the obvious price diff :D

This following link suggests the Skylake i3 has a 4% edge over the G4560:

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-G4560-vs-Intel-Core-i3-6100/3892vs3511

I also believe the mobo would limit the RAM to 2133 MHz (maybe a BIOS update might fix this?) although real world usage is going to be no difference.

I see no benefit to the Skylake build.

Cheers

The top one. For a start it has the latest platform compared to his being the last gen. The G4560 with HT has made the i3's overpriced and irrelevant. Either go for the G4560 or bite the bullet and go i5/i7. The i3 shouldn't even be considered now. I would replace your choice of psu with his choice though as it is a much better unit.

Cheers pastymuncher. He actually left it on 'Cougar VTX 400W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply - Black' but I knew for sure that'd be slated so switched it up. You've basically said exactly what I've told him so I'm glad another techie is in agreement.
